This year I repositioned my life from Chicago. For opportunities and new challenges, I moved with my husband from a downtown Chi-town loft building into a 1920s era vintage apartment building in the Rittenhouse Square area of Philadelphia.
As we settle into our “shabby chic” dwelling, I continue my observations, my staring, through layers of paint and layers of lives.
I follow the lead of Flannery O’Connor: “The writer should never be ashamed of staring. There is nothing that does not require his attention.”
