I was a court researcher and domestic policy analyst in a past professional life. I have been a script reader for Washington DC, Chicago, Philadelphia, and New York City theatres and festivals, dramaturged productions and readings, published theatre reviews, and mentored young writers in drama criticism. I truly enjoy working with playwrights on projects and scripts in development. Member of the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas (LMDA), the Dramatists Guild of America (DGA), and the Independent Theater Bloggers Association (ITBA) . I was a member of Chicago’s Joseph Jefferson Awards Committee from May 2008 through April 2009, and saw nearly 200 Chicago productions during that period as a judge committee member. That seems like a grand level of theatre-going to me. And I continue to sit on a national committee developing recommendations on justice system information sharing record privacy and information quality. Make sense? It does somehow to me. It’s all process and it’s all theatre.
Martha Wade Steketee. First name from great grandmother, middle name from mother, surname from father. Lifelong sympathy for those asked to spell and to pronounce their names. Once a Facebook group existed — “Steketee. If you can spell it you must be one of us.” I love that.
[STEK [rhymes with heck] – EH – TEE.]
Email firstname.lastname@example.org and you won’t have to worry about pronouncing the name at all.
